About Me
Art has always been something that I love consequently it has always been an important part of my life.  As a child, I loved to draw, even in class, which invariably got me into trouble with teachers and sometimes with preachers during church too!

My high school's curriculum included "shops" such as drafting, auto mechanics, carpentry and commercial art.  I was very fortunate to be part of the commercial art group since most of the students accepted into the shops were boys.  Later, while attending Howard Payne University, I minored in art under the instruction of Drs. Charles and Maurine Stewart, Eloise Trigg and Ann Smith, all wonderful and talented art professors.

Awards that have been received include the Stars of Texas People's Choice Award in 2008 and the Brownwood Art Association People's Choice Award in 2011.  Many of my art works have been accepted into the Stars of Texas Juried Art Competitions over the years since 1998.  I have the honor of having been named Artist of the Year for the Brownwood Art Association for 2013.  I have had art works displayed and sold at various art shows and fundraisers.
